Dr. Rosa Jang is an internationally acclaimed flutist, educator, and chamber musician, whose dynamic career spans performance, pedagogy, and artistic collaboration. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Flute Performance from Stony Brook University, where she studied with the renowned Carol Wincenc. She also earned a Master of Music from Yale University under Ransom Wilson and a Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she was mentored by Fenwick Smith.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Jang has influenced students worldwide through her roles as a faculty member at Sejong University’s Graduate School of Convergence Arts and Future Education Center in Seoul, Korea. She is also the co-founder of Flute Foundations, LLC, in the United States and Let’s Flute Academy in Korea, both of which emphasize innovative approaches to flute pedagogy. Her commitment to education extends to numerous institutions, including the Rudolf Steiner School in New York, Stony Brook University, and the Yale School of Music, where she has mentored students at all levels.

Dr. Jang’s artistry has been recognized through her performances as a soloist with orchestras such as the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, Jeju Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony S.O.N.G, and the Yale Baroque Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Seoul Arts Center. She is a founding member of Flota, a flute quartet, and actively collaborates with ensembles such as Flute Ensemble Adina and the New York Wind Orchestra.

She also founded Let’s Flute Ensemble to promote the accessibility of flute music in Korea. This ensemble, which consists of approximately 40 members, including both professional and amateur flutists, was inspired by her experience as a faculty member at Creating Resonance Retreat, a summer program led by Carol Wincenc, where Dr. Jang has taught since 2019. Her work with Let’s Flute Ensemble reflects her dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive flute community.

Her orchestral experience is extensive, having performed with renowned ensembles including the Korean Chamber Orchestra, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She has also participated in high-profile festivals and productions, such as the SAC Opera Gala and the Jerome Robbins Centennial Celebration with the New York Theatre Ballet. Her contributions to contemporary music include collaborations with composers such as Jordan Kuspa and participation in new music recordings.

Beyond performance and teaching, Dr. Jang has co-authored the beginner flute etude books "Let’s Flute 1 & 2," published by Yesol Press, which serve as foundational resources for young flutists. She has also served as a judge for entrance auditions at Stony Brook University, shaping the next generation of musicians.

Dr. Jang’s contributions to the musical community reflect her dedication to artistry, scholarship, and mentorship. Her influence extends beyond the stage, fostering a positive and enriching environment for students and fellow musicians alike.
